i have a turbo d16a6 and my gears are going fast, which tranny should i use for longer gears, i heard that dx tranny's are the one, can someone tell me which one is best, dx, si, hf, or...... your help would be very useful thankz.

 

si is the best. every one thinks longer gear for turbo but i know for a fact that my j1 tranny will out excelerate my s1 tranny every time

the only advantage to a longer geared tranny is a higher top speed. But you will never need that extra length of gears in a 1/4.

the race would be over (street or strip) b4 u actually had a use for the longer gears.

 

if its only for top speed, how do you figure economy cars use them? just to keep the revs down i suppose

 

what about the whole spool, shift, spool, shift deal u always hear about .....if u keep ur rpms up high enough u wont have to spool the turbo back up after shifting,? i just always heard that longer gears where good b/c u didnt have to shift as much and drop out of the spool range of the turbo
