Default couple Q's - which lube? which gasket ? and a wuts this ----?



that is the mount stabilizer kit , what are the lil zip tie looking things? never messed with these before, thanks

also- in assembly whats a good lube to use? for ex: head studs

which liquid gasket- hardening, or non hardening? for like oil pan and valve cover...

1. The zip ties help hold the insert together. Take your mount off and place an insert on each side and zip then together, reinstall.
2. What kind of studs? stock / APR. You can use motor oil or moly lube, but remeber each has it's own resistance rating and will affect torque readings when installing.
3. I use RTV sealant for the oil pan and VC gaskets, it hardens into a rubber like substance.

I agree with smooth imports on everything but the liquid gasket, use the non harndening. I know thats what smooth meant he just shouldnt have put the word hardens in there.

yeah i didn't mean (hard gasket) i sould have said with it solidfys (sp). Also you do plan on using an actual gasket right? only use the RTV or what ever sealent you choose in the corners of each cam cap ends and on the coners of the oil pan.

correct , using a gasket and then the liquid gasket! thanks again guy! big help!

for the studs, im using arp- what are specs for torque using motor oil, and using the "moly lube" can this ---- be found at hardware store? im in idiot.

also for stock head bolts- what are the spces for torque using oil and for using moly lube? just covering my *** knowing all the facts

what motor? torque rating are differant for differant application
