Default Ti Retainers on d16

hey guys i was doing some research on retainers and heard that titanium retainers have to be replaced every 15 thousand miles cuz they wear out and break eventually? So is this true are aluminem retainers better? Or is that statement bullshit? i thought titanium was one of the hardest materials. thx

titanium is not the strongest material. yes they do wear down pretty quick. im not sure aluminum is better. titainiums weight to strength ratio is great, but it is "softer" than steel. altough steel is heavier, it will last. those titanium retainers and springs were initially designed for once trip down the drag strip. they wont last as long as steel. i dont know exactly why, just what i have read about.

stop talking out of your ***... :P

I wouldnt use aluminum retainers at all...

a "titanium retainer" is a race type device, and will not live as long as a stock one. But are by far the best choice, IMO.
