VALVE SPRINGS AND RETAINERS

Default VALVE SPRINGS AND RETAINERS

I going to be using a stage 2 turbo camshaft from crower and i need to upgrade my vavle train with this cam. its for a d16z6.unfortunately for me they are out of stock on thier kits and wont have any for 3-4 weeks. anyone got any recommendations on who makes a good spring /retainer kit? oh and what the difference or what is better titanium or aluminum retainers? redline will be 8k at approx 15psi. help me out guys!

titanium is better. it is not as malleable (but i'm not sure thats why its better).

skunk2 springs and retainers not sure if they have em for d series but they probably do.good to 10k
and def. go with titanium retainers

remember if you roll with tiutanium retainers, they have a relatively short life expectancy...i ran into trouble with them before. so its stock valvetrain for me thanks

anything high perormance and lighter weight like that always has a short life expectancy, endyn says they change their springs and retainers after 7 passes. in an all motor b20 vtec so i guess they do that for a reason. and at 400 bucks a set. i think ill pass

ill tell you how long theyll last. 2 summers of beating them. my best friend blew up a 12 sec. all motor b18c5 cause the springs wore out. 2 summers and maybe 8000 miles. gone . lots o money lost there
