anyone know if a bad throw-out bearing would make weird noise?? i got a funky ticky comin from the tranny when i accell and decel, but not then i coast with the clutch pedal in. anyone have this problem b 4??

 

I've had ticking, but it was the opposite of what your's is...

Clutch out = no noise

Push clutch in = tat-tat-tat-tat...

Input Shaft Bearing.

 

have exactly the same thing going on right now it is the throw out bearing...im fixing mine next week...rattles at idle with clutch out and with clutch in no noise....excelerating=rattle till around 3000grand atwhich point i probably cant hear it anyway to know its there or not...with clutch in cruising its gone...its more of a ratlle than a ticky with mine.

 

sitting in neutral its just louder than normal, it doesn't tick then, its fuct up. i guess act doesn't use quality bearings with their clutch kits.

ordered it in the morning and they got my ---- shipped out the same day

when you had it replace just don`t forget ot lube it up good
i`d also do the clutch at the same time if it is old enough.

 

I had a similar experience with them when I needed a replacement throw out bearing, same day shipping.

 

the clutch isn't that old, but i think i'm gonna go with a more agressive plate. maybe get the flywheel resurfaced and balanced

 

yeah, i have this same problem. makes a weird ticking noise in gear, but once you put the clutch in it stops. it just started about a week ago. i have a 95 civic lx, with 145000 miles on it, still factory installed clutch. Do i have a while, or should i fix this ASAP? i dont want to put alot of money in to this motor, cause im getting a new one soon. but $40 for the throw out bearing isnt bad, just alot of labor for a $40 part.
