tensioner bolt hole stripped...what can be done? Help?

damn a heli coil kit is $60?? cant i just buy the insert and use just a needle head plier to insert it in? i know the plastic tool isnt worth $60.

you have to tap out the stripped hole to a larger size.
some kits come with a tap and those are expensive.
if you have a tap already, then you just need the inserts.

The other option is to weld the hole, drill and tap the correct size. the problem is getting in the exact location as stock.

fill the hole with JB weld, wax the bolt and stick it in. when it dries you are set. just another option. personally i would do the heli-coil

been there. my tensioner broke off in the block, ---- it up trying to extract it, tried so many different types of insert nothing works the all worked loose after startup. so I went on ebay, found this british guy selling some inserts that when you install them there is some kinda pressure activated glue on the threads, installed the bitch with a standard fine thread bolt, and I never had that problem ever since.. if you would like to have one if you dont have any luck, I could send you one.
