? on the Std EF's
Are the axles the same with the STD and the DX and SI's? Because on the HF's don't you need to get the larger brakes if you wanna do a engine/tranny swap or am I just smoking crack? I'm gonna be doing a tranny swap from a 4spd to a A6 tranny and don't wanna be in for a surprise come time to put the ---- together.

Well you were smart enough to ask first, so you wont be in for a suprise now. Yes the std 4 spd axles are different then 5 spd dx or si axles. So you need to get the dx or si hubs, or mate the axles

Re: ? on the Std EF's
you can use your stock HF axles with the SI trans. The outer part of the axles are the main difference,
the inner joints for EF's are all the same, the outers are small on the CRX HF and Civic STD & DX the outers are big on CRX Si & DX and Civic Si hope that helps |
Re: ? on the Std EF's
yup if you keep the same hubs you can resue the 4 spd axles w/ the a6 trans

Re: ? on the Std EF's
Sweet so just use the old axles with the new tranny! I'm golden! No brake upgrade. Don't really need it anyways with the all motor DPFI b2 he'll be using. Damn my neck just hurts thinking about it. :P

Re: ? on the Std EF's
the STD and DX are pretty much the same car mechanically
the main difference is the interior and the DX has a few more ponies |
Re: ? on the Std EF's
oh and don't forget that dope 4spd tranny and that infamous manifold. 8) Oh and no shift consule I believe too. just a rubber boot around the shifter from what I can remember.
