Up yours fuckass! I am hoping you understand the basics of what a solenoid is and does. He said that if he "ARCS" the ------- solenoid the car will start. So...that tells me that either the solenoid is ---- or he is not getting proper power from the ignition switch to the damn solenoid.

clean your battery terminals, make sure they are corrosion free, and tight on the ------- terminal posts. apply some dielectric grease or LIGHTLY some anti-seize (Ni or Cu) and make sure you don't over-tighten your hold down cracking the top of your case

I repeat, dummyboy, how does applying power to the solenoid to make it work - to verify it works - mean the solenoid is bad? That's what the starter circuit does, and if you "arc" it manually you verify solenoid operation that indicates the problem is elsewhere.

When you turn your key to the start position power is sent to the solenoid, which is a switch. If the solenoid functions properly the "switch" will close allowing power to pass through it to the starter motor. If the solenoid is not functioning the "switch" cannot close to allow power to pass through to the starter motor. If your solenoid is not functioning you can sometimes bypass (ARC) the "switch" to allow power to reach the starter motor and in turn start the vehicle.

Like I said before...if this isnt the problem then you are not getting power from the ignition to close the "switch" or solenoid.

 

You ------- ********, the OP is not bypassing the starter solenoid when he says he is arcing it. What he means is that he is bypassing the key switch, not the solenoid.

You cannot (without destroying the starter wiring) bypass the solenoid on a honda starter.. its built into the damn thing. You are likely thinking about the starter RELAY.
