Well I got up in there good and it looks like when yo press the clutch in the master cylinder as well as the whole clutch pedal assembly has some pretty good play in it. I noticed a bolt hole that was empty also. I'm guessing this is where the pedal assembly bolts to the bracket that auto's don't have?

On further inspection I noticed this? I guess the slave rebelled against the master. Notice the nice tear dripping from the beast.

Could I shitty master be part of the issue then?

id replace that nasty pos up there^^^^! if not your only gonna run into more problems, it may even solve the issues you are having now. thats one reason why i hate hydros that are hard to work with. then again the rx7 is a breeze to get too.

Yeah the upper bolt is going to be a bitch to get to. It wasn't even tight at all. I could only get to the bottom bolt with a wrench and tightened it good. It didn't solve the problem, but it felt a lot smoother driving around. Have to order the master which will take 3-5 days.

good choice. after so many years of abuse being like that(wonder how it was that way to begin with) i wouldnt doubt that it could be the reason for your issues at hand. i know there are cars that even use the brake booster and master cylinder as the clutch cylinder, and have seen bad things happen. lucky for us, honda was smarter about these things. although i still love my cable trans

Yeah I wish it was cable. It was so much easier to deal with the old EF. Part should be in Friday. Read that I need to have a brace made for both sides of the firewall since it's weak especially without the stock bracket.

When they did the 5spd swap they didn't get the brace for the top of the clutch pedal. It was just held on to the master. When you pressed the pedal it was flexing which was causing a really low engagement and not full disengagement. Just used a big bolt and drilled a hole into the top of the firewall and braced it.
