Default LS CRX Swap - Shifting Stinks!

Okay... I have my shift link on and everything seems in perfect fit. Now, when I shift gears, the shifter doesn't seem to stay in place. Like I put it in 1st gear, it will still wiggle side to side. Am I missing parts to my shifting components? And pictures could help, even if they are free-handed drawings...

what mount kit and shift linkage did u use? did u put in those little rubber spacers/washers on either side of the shifter? if i remember correctly my b16 swap had some side to side play in the shifter. i used HCP mounts and shift linkage.

there should be very little side to side play. make sure there's the bushing bushing on the tranny along with that little mettle pole piece that goes inside the rubber bushing, then the bushing with the two bolts that goes into ur floor board. tighten all bolts... good to go.

your gonna have side to side play. a good way to take away some play is to get some new shifter bushings like (energy suspention)

alwaystootall - It's some company up in Arizona and it's the shift link that's made just for my b-series into CRX swap...

turboDA6 - huh? pics?

crx2fast - just bought my set of energy suspension bushings like you suggested. we'll see how that goes...

Thanks for the advice so far guys. I'll keep you guys posted...

when i did my swap i used the mounts and linkage kit from jdmshit.com. they sent me 1 wrong mount, but i drilled it out and made it work.

the shifter had a little play in it, but not alot. the only thing i would say is maybe the bushings (like crx2fast said). i had mine with a B&M short shifter and there wasnt much play. When i put on my short shifter it elimianted alot of the play as well. keep us updated

Okay, here's the update:

I did a little research after I replaced my old bushings with the Energy Suspension kit. I noticed according to page 8-3 of the 88-91 CRX manual, I am missing these:

Change Lever Dust Seal A & B
Change Lever Ball Seat

What the heck are these and am I supposed to have them?

do you have a bitch pin in the tranny for the linkage or just a bolt.

im using just a bolt instead of the pin and it causes alot of play in mine.

Yeah, me too. I'm using just a bolt. Does it make that much of a difference if I used the pin instead?

it makes a big difference between the pin and the bolt, unless the bolt is practically the same diameter as the hole.

there is also a bushing that goes through the shifter below the pivot point. did you have that in there too?
