Default scobby owners HELP

This is probably a stupid question but im a Honda
guy and dont know much about subaru's.
A buddy of mine's wife just ran her Impreza wagon
out of oil'and i can get it for free.
Its a'97 2.2 AWD 5sp. wagon
Now i know it being OBD2 i can swap a wrx motor
and wiring harnesses in keeping origonal drivetrain
and tranny.What i dont know is can i put a '02
front end on it,or will i have to cut and weld
both sets of fenders and hoods.

I read about this in a mag recently. Apparently you have to re-wire the entire dash too.

Thanx guys,
this looks like a good hybrid sleeper project.
Yes you do have to swap the whole wiring harnesses under
the dash, but only if you use the JDM wrx motor. If you
use the north american version and are OBD2 its a lot
simpler.
Looks like ill be selling my winter car('91 4dr.ZC civic)
to fund this new winter car project.
MMMMM all wheel drive

Thanx again for the help guys
The best site i found just happens to be
1.5 hrs down the 401(as the honda flies )
its Toronto-subaru-club.com
I even talked to their club at last summers
Darknights show.their site is lightyears ahead
of the others as far as tech stuff.
But dont worry im not abandoning my first true
love ,Honda.I just cant stop tinkering with things,
and we have real winters up here.A subaru wagon realy
blends into the crowd (dammed cops hate Hondas)
And my shrink tells me that keeping my hands busy
is very therapudic and enlightening.
I think it just keeps me from strangling idiots in SUV,s.
