Ive seen em for like 250. I got my 3sge for 365. it was 600 shipped to my work from california to ohio. if your going to do a swap do a 3sge swap and megasquirt it. its the same damn block, the head flows better. the bottom end is just about as strong, and you wont spend 1200 every time you blow an engine. plus you'll have a full stand alone. :)

sigh.. my luck is soo good with cars.. haha not. >:(.. i just wanna drive my damn car. its my daily driver also. it sucks taking my parents camry to high school :3 ... and i have to work almost every day until like 9. And on top of that tryin to get some decent grades to get into an alright college.. ----.. i sound like a bitching 16 yr old right now.. but damn.. its just so hard to find time to work on my car. and it needs like a swap right now..

kk im done bitching.

but i have a question

it was only the 4th bearing that spun.. could that have to do with oil pressure at all.. because maybe the oil had enough pressure to hit the first 3 crank journals, but not the 4th? is that possible? or is it just evenly distrbuted?

Im just trying to find out the reason for the spun bearing, because if i threw a new crank and rod bearings, and it happened again it would be a waste. so anyone know for sure what they think it was that caused the bearing to spin?

Thanks.

ahh.. and if anyone knows of a hookup on a 5sfe engine let me know.. thanks.

Did you plastigauge it all like I said you should? I'm with Peter, I think it was a clearance issue.

I've done a few 3sgte swaps, so if you need any help let me know. All you really need is the engine/wiring harness/ecu.

Use your stock tranny, send the 3sgte harness and the 5sfe harness to my buddy, drop the new engine in, wire it all up, start it up and you're golden.

I was thinking of doing the swap too, I'm still debating between that an a 4age 20v swap. I have an A series engine in the car now, so I would have weld a new motor mount on, but that's no big deal. If you have any more questions on the 3sgte swap, lemme know.

i dont think i can use a 5sfe tranny on the 3sgte.. but i could be wrong.. i was thinking if i could use a 3sge tranny? i would think so.. neways.. ive only heard of a camry v6 tranny being used.. neways.. the 3s swap is sounding good. unless i can find a really good deal on a short block 5s or something

oh and i was thinking, i drove on the new rod bearings 100 miles before the rebuild, and during the rebuild they were still like brand new.. so they got fried in the like 10 mins i drove it after i was finished.. and pretty damn sure i torqued them to spec.. could that still be clearence i ssues??

oh and for snafub, are the engine mounts different than 5sfe on 3sgtes?

transmission mounts up the same, engine mounts are the same. they're both s series motors.

http://www.nippon-motors.com/toyota.htm pretty good price on a 3sgte. but the harness comes all hacked up. and notice how the 3sge is cheep as dirt ;)

Re: +Rebuild, But Now No ComPreSSioN==

if you had to rig something up it would be 3sgte presure plate and flywheel and a 5sfe clutch disk. But it think 3sge and 5sfe trannys are the same :l I wouldn't doubt it anyway. Its probably the same input shaft and presure plate fork set up ----.
