Default Quick couple questions

I have a 91 dx dual point with no head on the engine. I'm getting a y8 head to put on the beast. Now I've done some reading and I'm a little confused-- The easiest way to do this would be to convert car to mpfi and convert the head to obdo and run the vtec off an rpm activated switch right? And I guess this runs ok right? What distributor do I use for this setup. The other way I was thinking was converting to obd1 via jumper harness and running an obd1 ecu, but I would still have to convert dpfi to mpfi first right? If I convert to obd1 then I would use a z6 distributor and ecu, and I would have an ecu that runs the vtec properly. The jumper is around $50 so i'm not that worried about the cost. What should I do? WWJD?

Do a mpfi swap first make sure car runs then install OBD1 conversion as it will run the vtec better and you get better engine management options such as Crome.

So what should I do to the obd2 y8 head? convert it to obdo to start and make sure it runs, without vtec, and then convert to obd1 from there? What distributor should i use to convert the head to obdo?
