did you read the question? i'm not asking about wiring the motor, i'm asking about the ---- inside the car that needs to work to make the motor work. like the fuel pump.
the only question about the sbc wires was can i reuse the stock wires without the ecu or will i need to rewire the engine.
it can't get anymore c0mpl3x for you can it

starter = 2 wires. one 4ga, one 14ga.
fuelpump can be mechanical, but electric will benefit your cause of shoehorning. get an old subaru loyale fuelpump. they're external, and max out at 20psi, plus are external. easy to wire, i would just ignore your in-tank pump unless you get a regulator MADE for regulating 100psi of fuel down to 7

Re: questions about my v8 rx7 swap
i was planning on getting a regulator made for putting a carb setup in your fuel injected car. however i was thinking about an external one that might work better.
using the stock pump will be easier.
also i've rewired my old 70 c10 so i'm sure i can figure this out. just wanted to know about the ecu before i sell it.

I don't see why you couldnt keep the starter system in place. Just extend the 12v and solenoid wires to fit. Same with the alternator.
May be you could even adapt the stock rx7 oil pressure sender, and water temp sensor to the chevy, and keep the gauges intact.
How about getting a cheap holly blue. Have the stock intank feen a surg tank, and then feed the holley from that.
I guess if your trying to keep it simple forget the surge tank

Re: questions about my v8 rx7 swap
well for the gauges i'm going with a full aftermarket setup so i don't need to worry about adapting any senders or ---- like that.
and the fuel pump idea is a little more work then i want to do. this is my plan

i think that the stock fuel pump is only about 40psi.
the only thing that will change what i do with the fuel pump setup is if my gas tank is rusted and i need to replace it. the car sat for 10 years not even moved in that time. i'm gonna drop the tank out and drain it. gotta find out if it needs replacing. if i have to replace then i'm going with a fuel cell and external pump

i was just under it taking out the driveshaft and while i was down there i hit the gas tank. it sounded like some baffles in there have rusted off. i'm just gonna scrap the whole idea with the in tank pump ---- and go with a fuel cell with external fuel pump.
