question on broken h22 timing belt.
hey guys have a quick question, had a buddy today break a timing belt on his h22, today and it was at idle at a stop light what are the chances of the valves being bent to ----?
shoudl we throw a new on on and turn it over and run a comp test or how do you recommend i have a head gasket laying around for it but we'll see what it comes to and i have a spare head with good valves but the casting is fucked.
Pull the head your already going so far
Chances are pretty good a valve bent. My car was at around 2000 rpm's shifting into 2nd and had 5 bent valves
remove cams
poor water into ports
water stays in ports valve is good and seating
water starts pouring out the valve seat valve is bent and needs to be replaced
Atleast lap the valve in a new or used one
