"puff" noise at idle???

"puff" noise at idle???
engine sounds fine while driving. But when i come to a stop and am idling it does a "puff" once in a while...
example...
engine will sound good for a couple seconds then puff, back too good.. few seconds later puff again..
to explain the sound a little more detailed...lol this sounds dumnb.. anyways.. that sound that is made when you put your finger in your mouth and make a "pop" from your cheek... sounds kinda like that..
anyways.. anyone??
