why machine it though, for looks

a few ounces 2.5" away from centerline does little improvement.

6-7 Pounds of the outer edge of the flywheel has a 100x or more effect at same rpm.

For example.........

4 ounce fishing sinker, with 2.5" of fishing line, twirl it as fast as you can, fairly easy.

Now take a 6 pound weight with 5" of fishing line, just TRY to twirl the damn thing. Better yet make it 10 pounds if your using a 7.5 pound flywheel. Can you get it going as fast as the 4 ounce weght? I doubt it!

ONLY reason to use a aftermarket pulley is to slow down the accessories to keep them from throwing a belt. When the belts see high rpm they stretch, allowing enough to jump off the drive pulleys.

Just like pistons have a max. safe speed, drive belts have a point when they come off.
