Default AEM TruPower Pulleys

I got the altenator pulley for christmas for my ZC. Is it worthwhile to use? I have heard not to use them with turbos.(xerocron's #36 on What not to do with FI) I have the option of returning it for something else because they were not sure what to get me.

What do you think? Is it worth it. I was expecting the Crank pulley not the altenator but my dad and the guy at the store were confused on what to get.

use the alternator pully sure, but you could probly return it and buy something better.

DONT BUY THE CRANK PULLY UNLESS YOU WANA SAY BYE BYE TO YOUR BEARINGS.

I'd still put it on, you probably wont notice much. Becarful on the aftermarket crank pulleys, they have no dampening force and on the higher revs you can break a oil pump gear.

Well I decide I'm going to return it because after ripping apart my suspension at the begining of the winter all my bushings were fried and the bolts were seized inside of the metal jackets.

So I'm going to the shop he got it from and ordering a Prothane or Hyperflex kit.

I did have the alternator pulley on my car and I did notice a big difference. Well big difference in charging the battery. Your alternator will only put out about 11.5 volts instead of the 14.5 volts with the oem pulley.

NOT worth it in my book. 98ctr

I have a digital voltage guge, and even when I was driving with the rpm's at 3k or even 4k the voltage was not even close to where they are with the oem pulley. 98ctr

I thought the pulleys were the exact same size but just made incredibly light?

Nope different diameter on the AEM pulleys I got.
I didn’t install the Alt one because I have an amp installed, but the PS pulley made a difference.
I actually like the feeling better with it. Less floaty feeling and more road feel.
