ok redid the spark plug wires and now i get a the engine to turn over and it is trying to start every now and a gain i am getting combustion like a small puff. so maybe my timing off. and else im missing.

they say the dizzy fits only one way, but i've seen them fit up to the motor and be 180 degrees off (the straight piece of metal that fits into the motor). maybe try pulling it off and checking to make sure its installed correctly.

u cant put a dizzy in upsidedown
unless you put a d dizzy on a b head

its hard to put a dizzy upside down. the two teeth are differant sizes

Ok the fact it wants to start but still doesnt means you still have your firing order wrong most likely

Plus when you prime the motor like that you are letting fuel enter everytime. Your cylinders are dumped with fuel and most likely plugs are fouled and not sure how long you have been doin this but washing out rings is a possibility too

If it makes the puffing noises, try going clockwise one more set on the dizzy.

I've had this happen before too. Best bet is what he said...set to tdc and check the rotor iteslf to see where it points.

yea i have tryed turning it over alot. to much gas in the cylinder. i will set to tdc and try again

Fouled plugs wont allow a car to start. Go buy another set. lesson learned priming the ---- out of injectors and nothin to fire them =bad for plugs
