OEM or aftermarket main bearings?
Its really hard to find credible information on this subject, FJT is selling KING main's for a good price in the for sale section, my only worry is.....
How can a main bearing be "universal" I understand the block's stamped color codes and doesnt the exact right bearing have to be put back in?, if so how can you use these universal bearings such as kings or acl's. I have acl rod bearings but they should all be the right size. do you just match up the bearings to the journals with the closest tolerances to the book? I'm a little confused. Sorry for all the posts but its hard finding this more specific info.

Generally unless a bearing was spun and the crank had to be redone, it should be in spec for a "universal" bearing. The only way to find out is buy a set of the bearings, then plastigauge the ----, then buy the appropriate replacement bearings.
Honda builds there motors to tight specs... the rest of the world doesnt use as tight of specs... Honda has like 8 sizes for "standard" size on every main/rod bearing... Ford/Chevy/etc just have "std", "+.010", "+.020"....
why you want to replace the mains? just reuse them...

Listen.. the only way to find out is plastigauge or have a builder look at it. I bet that it's in spec as long as none are spun or seriously scored, but whatever.
