Not sure how A/C/Heater works? help?

Default Not sure how A/C/Heater works? help?

hey all, i have a question about my heater. i want to turbo my car soon and i can stand the hotness of the summer but i can't stand the coldness of the winter. My question is do i need the a/c compressor thing for my heat to work or is the heat a whole different system thx for the help.

so i DON'T need the compressor that bolts to the block how exactly does the heat work then also anyone have a diagram of how the little hook things on the back of the climate control hook to in a crx i know its somewhere under the dash but where?

Correct, you don't need the compressor to use the heater. The coolant flows through a radiator type thing called the heater core. The fan blows through the heater core and into the cab causing heat.

What little hook? Do you mean the valve that closes the heated coolant from flowing through the heater core? I believe it is under the hood. I know they are in the Civics. Follow the smaller coolant lines under the hood and you will run into the valve. It should be close to the firewall probably near the passenger side. If that's not what you are talking about, nevermind then. I just waisted my time.

no there are little hooks on the back of the climate control in my crx, they are pretty long and they change the temp by moving a lever thing. there are two of them i believe. anybody know

The heater control cables? yes.. they go to a little valve that blocks/opens coolant flow to the heater core.

do you happen to know where or have a pic of where they go to or a diagram on the web somewhere, i can't find it and i don't have my manual with me its at my dads house in another state.
