Default Need Help w/ Timing Belt???

I'm doing a Mini-me setup (a6 w/z6) but I've tried using the a6 timing belt and it's too long, then I tried using the z6 belt and its still too long. I took a b7 belt off a dx (90 dx) and tried it and it looks a lot better but its still a little longer but a lot short then the other two belts. I need help? which belt should I use?

Check your tensioner. There should be a spring attached to it to give some tension, and did you loosen the tensioner bolt before you tried the belts? a6/z6 combo should be the z6 timing belt.

a6 timing belt is like 107 tooth... y8 is like 103??...i couild be wrong i forget but yea mine worked fine with the y8 belt... actually it was ALMOST too tight! what head gasket you using? it affects the distance between the head and little bit.

um yea z6 belt is longer than y8, use y8

It's supposed to be timing belt matched to the head normally...if you use a z6 head, use a z6 belt...y8 head, normally y8 belt. You have to keep in mind certain combos have more or less teeth to them i.e. smaller crank timing gears or cam gears. Case in point is the d15b2 bottom with y8 head...no matter what belt you use, almost always going to be 1 tooth advanced or retarded unless you change your cam gear to an adjustable or a y7 gear i believe. The last a6/z6 combo i did, the z6 belt was actually a pretty tight fit, so something doesn't sound right here
