For N/A I would lighten it. For turbo you'll be taken care of on the top end by the turbo, so you keep the FW stock for the torque.

Get a machine shop to lighten your stock one.

i dont see how a FW can affect tourqe. (more if it's heavier?)

all it becomes is reciprocating mass. lighter the better IMO.

The reciprocating weight of the flywheel helps keep the rotation of the motor going. From what I hear with a lightened flywheel/turbo/heavy clutch, when you let the clutch out it wants to grab the motor and "stop" it from spinning, which will make for a jumpy low end. That's what I hear anyway.

I have a stock lightened flywheel....it's a bit jumpy at low rpm's...below 3K.
It has no torque at all below 3K and climbs slow below 3K...above 3K it's a monster.
I think it's because I have it in a already low torque D15 block and the rest from a A6.

Good investment. Get a factory one lightned to around 12-13 lbs.
