Default lighten flywheel with turbo

Does anybody have one on their turbo car. I'em considering buying one but I've here'd rumors about them shattering if they are too light. The one I want to get is 8.7lbs.

Any comments?

Thanks

some people say they are bad cause you will climb gears too fast.. some people say it doesn't matter.

I say ---- spending $200 and just turn your own flywheel. I think Jeff went to a machine shop to get his flywheel turned and they wanted $90 so he said ---- that and shaved it with the brake lathe.. HMT style

is the difference in a lightened flywheel to a regular one worth the money?

I had my stock ls one shaved to 12 pounds. It revs quick maybe to quick for my ls but with a vtec engine it would be badass.

I bought a brand new Borg warner flywheel from www.rockauto.com for $50. Why machine it when you can get a new one for $50?

..had my flywheel skimmed/lightened on my d16 and it was quite fine..held up pretty good even at ten pounds of boost from my t3..so don't pay any attention to hearsay...
