I run a 5.5lb flywheel in my ZC, and highly recommend any type of lightened flywheel, whether its factory or aftermarket. They make the car rev incredibly quicker, and if you are running a turbo, it seems to spool a bit quicker.

We have taking around 5-7lbs of factory flywheels without problems.
(be sure to get it balanced afterward)

Some machine shops do this, How much? it depends on the shop..

about 50 to lighten,
20 to balance..

just guesses

Get a aftermarket one, they are so damn cheap, 250 bucks for a 5.5lb flywheel.

Hey Jeff didn't you guys lighten one of your flywheels on a brake lathe? I think I remember something about doing that on this web site.

If you did how well did that work for ya and did you guys balance it afterwards?
