My driver side is caliper loose and making horrible scratching noises?
My car is making horrible scratching noises and I pulled off the front to wheels to inspect, the driver side caliper is loose. When I spin the hub it makes the horrible scratching noise. Any idea what is wrong?

I had this problem, and still do...LOL there is a little metal clip at the bottom and the top of the brake pad, it holds the pad in place, it isnt a clip, you will see it whe you pull the pad off. anyways, that thing is bent and scraping against your disc. Pull your wheel off, take your caliper off, and pull out your pad. you will see it right away. you can get a clip at any auto place for like $2.00 for a little box of them. make sure you take your old one in there because there are different sizes. I found out from experience.

make sure the splash guard isn't bent
some times its easy get rocks inbetween the rotor and the caliper... that happens if you travel on rocky, or roads that has allot of Asphalt.
makes very annoying scraping squealing noise..
falkhen
better you then me,but then im not so lucky.

it's on your front brakes right? Time to master ebraking for about a month until you feel like having normal brakes agin.... it's fun to be at aa steep uphill light and trying not to touch your foot brakes at all, just using the clutch and ebrake. I didn't say it was good for the surfaces just good for learning a good launch.
