Just registered, but please bare with me.

So i have a 1988 Honda Civic dx. It's the automatic d15b2. My motor has over 243k miles on it, so i want to help it out power wise. I have a cold air intake and 2.5 in. catback exhaust with a test pipe. I have searched many website and just decided to ask a few questions so i can get the exact answers i want.

First off, i want to keep my car automatic to save the trouble, and to do one of 2 things. Either a mini-me swap, or a complete d16 vtec swap. if i were to do a mini-me, what would i need besides a d15b head? or could i use a d16y8 head? Would it be better for me to just get a complete d16 vtec swap? what all would i need for a complete swap?

I apologize for the lack of knowledge, i came here to be more enlightened on the subject.

 

Get a complete D16 vtec as your motor is probably not in that great of shape by now.A 5sp swap is really not very hard.You need to do a mulitport swap do a search on it there is a million write ups.
