Re: Motor finally installed but car wont start??? Z6/Y7 mini-me
Well, Update.... Got off work early today so had time to work on the car. I ended getting a z6 crank pulley from a friend and out of curiosity I put the ****** on. Got everything lined up and tried starting it up again.... still nothing. So Im deff sure its not a timing prob. Even tried advancing and retarding the dizzy all the way and nothing. Car turns over......slowly and just gives me a random backfire. Thats also the thing, The car turns over slow as ----. Anyway a bad starter could be the issue @ this point Im ------- lost and looking for any solution. Its officially been a year since my car was on the streets and im getting antsy as ----.

If it's firing then the dist is fine. How's the battery cause if it's been sitting that long, I'm surprised it even cranked over. Slap some jumper cables on it and see what it's like. I still say it's your timing on that hodge podge engine. Find a y7 cam gear and toss it on it and then time it. You try just tossing the stock ecu in there. Being it's a y7 it's not gonna matter that it's vtec or not. I realize you have a stock bin but could be a bad burn or binpossibly. Maybe try tossing that ecu into another car and see if it works if possible.

when putting the Z6 dizzy on in an OBD2 car isn't there a few wires that need to be repinned or is it just a straight plug and play? make sure you didn't mix up the MAP and TPS plug when hooking everything back up. seen it done before and don't remember it throwing a code either.

I haven't read all your posts thoroughly, but have you fixed that code 6? A code 6 will usually dump way too much fuel, and if cold enough, won't let the car start due to the excess fuel.
Even if your physical timing was off by 2 teeth in either direction, it should start. This is considering if everything else is good.
Are you 100% positive your firing order is correct? What are you using to confirm that it's correct?

Dude I'm just saying and don't even pull that ---- on me. I always ripped on you dude before you bought stuff from me. So I was surprised when you bought something from me for all the hard times I gave you. Don't it's just HMT luv. Hell as long as the dist can be held onto the head and the shaft fits into the slot on the cam it'll work 99% of the time. DOHC ZC/A1's are the odd ball since they have the CAS mounted outside of the dist instead of internally like the rest of honda distributors. It just comes down to swapping connectors or repinning connectors.
