LS rods in a D16..
Anyone done this here? What kind of HP can those rods on a D16 take? <------all properly tuned, of course...
Also...when machining the rods on the small end, do you decrease the diametre of the pin hole, or increase the bore of the piston hole to accept the B-series wrist-pin?
thanx...

1990-1997 Acura Integra B18A non-VTEC rods fit in single cam, D16 engines. You'll have to resize the small-end bore of the rod by rebushing it for the smaller pin of the Civics engine and lathe the big end bore thickness to Civic specs. (GOOD FOR UP TO 300HP TO THE WHEELS)

If your not going to make more than 225hp, I wouldn't go though the trouble. The LS rods, I'm sure, weigh more than the sohc rods and it will take more power to spin them.
Ever wonder why the small block is so popular vs the big block ? The rotatng mass on the big block is EXTREMLY HEAVY, the crank shaft in my friends 427BB was over 75LBS.

Re:LS rods in a D16..
The price breakdown of running LS rods, after bushing and machining the small end, often comes very very close to the cost of a set of Eagles.
I was told at one point that Crower had the bushes needed for $8/per, which would make the LS rod conversion do-able in an affordable manner if you didn't have to buy the PR4 rods. I have never bothered confirming if Crower does carry them or not.
When all is done + said the LS rods are not much stronger than the D-series. OEM D-series can already handle 225 whp, it's in the tune, so if you want to push any limits I'd just go buy a set of Eagles.
