WHAT ECU IS THIS, HELP!!!!!!!
I JSUT BOUGHT THIS ECU FROM EBAY. THE SELLER DESCRIBE AS A P72 WHICH I NEEDED FOR MY GSR SWAP. WHEN I PUT IT IN, THE MOTOR IS DOING CRAZY ---- LIKE FLUATING IDLE, RPM CUT OFF AT 4000. HE CLAIM THAT THIS ECU IS FROM STOCK AND IT'S A JDM. SO, RIGHT NOW, I AM RUNNING WITH AN ECU P28 WHICH IS FOR SOHC VTEC, WHICH IS FINE. IF ANYONE CAN HELP OUT WOULD APPRECIATED. THANKS.

Re:WHAT ECU IS THIS, HELP!!!!!!!
i got this ecu with modification in it. i have try it in my civic and it's doing funky stuff. i have removed the 2 resisitors, jumper, and 2 ics to restore back to factory setting. i have chipped my p28 and that's how i know where the factory setting is. what i really need is to identify the model of this ecu. it looks to me this ecu might be for an automatic. i try to contact the seller but his email no longer works. i 'm pretty much stuck with this ----.

Re:WHAT ECU IS THIS, HELP!!!!!!!
If the ECU that's giving you problems *is* the ECU in the picture, there's a lot of good reasons you're having problems.
1) If you ever want to unchip an OBD1 ECU, just cut the J1 jumper.
2) The ECU, since it is unchipped, is not reverting to it's stock program, which would be automatic P28 (JDM, which I doubt, is irrelevant). It is NOT a P72, and has no way of controlling IABs (well, I can add the hardware to do so, but I'm speshul and that doesn't come factory). The motherboard serial number, auto tranny control transistors, and jumpers confirm this.
BTW, your original problem is most likely because the ECU jumpers as still configured for an automatic transmission, not a manual.

Re:WHAT ECU IS THIS, HELP!!!!!!!
Oh, yeah, you'd have a better time of it if you posted ECU questions into the engine management forum. The route I advocate for any and all Honda engine management is based on the stock Honda ECU, so you get more bang for your buck there.
