you know...the person who has that 3rd generation prelude prolly did the smart thing and slapped a b16 or a b18 motor in that car because it should bolt up to the tranny and they would have alot more options..plus more power to work with....i could have done that with my old prelude i had but i just got rid of it...the thing is to heavy anyways...well good luck. my offer for a buck is still up...lol

The crank is 95mm and I hear it drops right in any other B series motor... but the journals are a little too big so you gotta get them grinded (not too expensive) or use custom rods... but your rod ratio is going to suck total *** unless you run crazy tight ring lands... and even then it's still gonna probably suck unless you get a deckplate or something... but then we're talking about lots and lots of money.

The B20A blocks have closed decks I think... And they have a deck height 11mm taller than an LS... Which I believe is the same as a Dart tall deck block...

here's a page on swapping the VTEC head on:

http://ludicrous2_0.tripod.com/vtec/

doesn't look to be worth the effort... unless the B20A5's head really sucks from the factory... I know nothing about them, really... seems like alot like the ZC.

i dunno.. those F22s are pretty weak.. 2.2L with 116 hp and 120 ft/lb torque...

where as a 1.6L engine can achive 115 hp and alot less torque

Dunno which "F22s" you're talking about.. But the "weakest" F22 engine has 125hp/137tq (F22A1) and the highest F22 engine having 160hp/148tq (JDM F22 DOHC). And what did this have to do with the B20 engine?

i've seen them f22 from the 92-93 accords dyno'd

the guy said those cars pull 115 hp and 120 ft/lbs torque
onlything the f22 is good for is torque.. since it is a larger car my friend has an a1 and his friend has the EXR in that generation.. and he got 120 hp and 125 ft/lb torque.. both modified but dunno to what extent

so?
my d15 does 92 HP!
and b18c5 is 197hp!

we're not talking about new engines here...
b20, zc, f22.. if we're comparing NEW engines that's a different story...

if the F22 was soo mighty y are people swapping in h22 into accords =)

blah... i'm just saying... f22 are torque motors... there isn't much aftermarket, or even enthusist backing to them.. yes it's "strong" but it's not a really good platform to work on.. like the b20.. the b20 and the f22 are the neglected motors.. most of them have seen 250 000 kms plus.. well the USDM ones..

what is the f22 accord rated at? 135 hp 140 ft/lb torque?
and they are dynoed with 115hp and 120 ft/lbs torque?

yes i know that dyno numbers and flywheel hp are different but the true numbers are the dynos.. since the power is what is put to the ground with the transmission loss!!

also seen a mazda mp3 with 130 hp dyno 115 hp... and that's a 2.0L motor

i guess i'm trying to say is... there's not enough power coming out of the motor with such a displacement number...
