Yup, especially if you are off the throttle, the chamber will quickly fill with water and cannot burn out. My guess is when johnny runs over these puddles, he is at WOT, and most of the ---- burns right through, and he continues to hold the car at WOT, lol, most of it will burn right out. You would be suprised how much water can be sucked in a engine and not hurt it. But it has to be done at WOT, or 3/4 otherwise it will hydrolock and break internals. a hole off the side of the block? ouch, definatly junk now, lol. But you could start it if you wanted, I had 2 holes in a block once and I started it, sounded really bad and all my neighbors came out to see what all the noise was, heh.

Well, if its D-series consider it not to big of a loss, they are cheap.

acually i went through the huge puddle at hardly any throttle, and at like 10mph. and the car stoped instantly.

all i did was crank it a bunch until it finally started. then ran all the extra gas out and it was fine.

still has the same plugs if i'm not mistaken.

maybe the d15a3 internals are stronger? maybe i got lucky three times? i dunno.

Well I think attempting to keep trying to crank it after it had all the water build up inside the motor was not good, usually after hitting thru a bunch of water it's best to take out the plugs, get the rest of the water out, then do about 3 OIL CHANGES. I have been out in the middle of nowhere with my 4x4, and run thru a good 4 feet of water (sometimes more), usually in first gear, of course WOT. It's amazing how I can get the water over the hood of a full size large truck (k-5 Blazer).

I've almost hydrolocked my motor a good 15-20 times, god damn aem cai. ;D I always just try to keep it running without it bogging so low that it dies, only thing I have ruined so far is an o2 sensor *knocks on wood*, just sharing my experience 8)

I hydrolocked my 250 about 2 years ago, i was running through this little river thing and hit a ------- big ass rock dumped the bike and thr throttle got suck Wide open and it just broke, the crank and the rod, ------- suxed

Great suggestion for all you n/a guys DON'T RUN CAI'S!! the extra .005HP it says it adds is not worth the risk of hydrolocking your motor. I have seen at least 4 motors come into my friend's shop in the last 5 months that have been hydrolocked and completely screwed. in one of them 3 of the 4 rods had gracefully exited the block allowing the pistons to give love taps to 8 of the 16 valves and the top of the chambers. the remaining piston and rod using its inertia of pursuasion to crack the crank in 2 places. After seeing that I'd rather have air that is 10-15 degrees warmer and dryer than having water come right up into my engine.
