Re:Honda civic EX
I think you mean a steptronic transmission?
My sisters prelude has this; its a good idea (hell Porsche invented it) but I don't think its that great there is still a delay inbetween shifts especially during power driving. Her car definently feels slower then a 5-speed SH of the same year.

Re:Honda civic EX
its called a tiptronic tranny. And I also heard they are crapola!
to the guy asking why a b16a1 has 160hp and a b16a2 has 170 has NOTHING to do with what transmission is used because those figures are measured at the flywheel. before a tranny even looses 15% of it.
If all you can find is a hydro tranny for a good price you can get a hasport kit that lets you use it. It adds a bracket and converts it to cable actuated. The transmission itself is not hydraulic, its the way its used. all in the mounts for hydro cyclinder and mechanism.

Re:Honda civic EX
and back to the v8 thing and stall converters..... ok it does make power, but not like what it would make at say 2500 or when ever ur cam was made to start making big power,so u would want to get a stall converter that locked up at 2500 or the say time u got into ur cam power range right so that would make it so ur not farting down the track till ur cam kicks in so kinda like bang u have power and thats when the converter locks up(if im wrong about this im sure someone will be more than happy to corect me )
