Homemade hot tank?
Not really, but I'm just gonna soak the block in a tupperware bin because the local shop charges $50 for an acid bath, and the last block I took there I could still wipe oil/dirt off of it with my finger when they were done.
The question is, what's the best chemical to use?

I used said rubbermaid bin and soaked in purple power overnight. Gave it a good brushing with a nylon brush then hosed off. It came out good enough for me. I usually soak parts in silicone spray after drying to prevent rusting too.
