My 91 integra is cutting out when the fuel level goes below half tank. I have heard that this is a common problem that develops in these cars. Do you guys have any suggestions or ideas on what may be causing this.

 

part of the hose is missing in the in tank fuel pump?

 

you should post this in the hybrid/tech section. but it could be a bad fuel pump, need to change fuel filter, junk (rust/dirt/etc.) in the fuel tank.

this may sound stupid but it's very possible....maybe the guage is broke and your tank is really empty...i found that out on the northern state in the rain needless to say i was running down that ---- with a soda bottle filled with gas

 

easy fix.
keep the tank full.

im serious. gotta do what it takes.


but i would do what other people said above to. ckeck your filter, lines etc.

I had this problem with a crx I was "watching" and it did the same ------ thing. I just kept the fuel level full.

 

mine crx does that when it gets below 1/4 tank but i think it's cause of the 255 walbro pump.

yeah its the OEM pump. It should be anyway, ive only had the car for 7 months and i dont think it was ever changed. The car will drive fine almost till empty if i dont make any sudden turns. I was going home the other day with like a quarter tank and went to turn into my subdivision and i almost got cleaned up by a semi. The car cut out in the middle of the road. Luck i sunk the clutch with enough momentum to coast through. Needless to say i had to check my pants when i got home.
