Default Cuts out

Allright, again another problem with the z6 i just put in my rex that needs to be resolved. This happend twice now... i'm just driving, and the rpms are at like 2500 and the gauge fly to zero and then to 2500 again and then back to zero and then back again for like 10 seconds (seems like car stalls, but restarts and when i hit the gas it don't do ----), then it drives normal or stalls out and i just restart it. It pissed me off because i didn't want to take that ---- to school today(wayne state in the middle of detroit) and stall out and get shot for being a white boy in the hood. I'm thinking that it might be my distributer cap because it also feels like it hesitates when i acclerate sometimes... not just at the inital takeoff, but all throughout the rpm range... but i don't that that is the proble and that's why i'm asking all of you guy for help... by the way, i put the old a6 dizzy on the z6 motor if that is nessesary to know and i got new plugs, but not wires.. Well, thanks

bouncing tach = faulty ignitor. do a nice dizzy rebuild, cap/rotor/ignitor... unless some are new, of course.

well, here is an update. I decided to go with the cheapest part first, the cap. It worked good for like a min, and the same ---- happend. I got pissed, and so i sat in my driveway watching it -----up evertime i reved... and i reved high. I relized it would first sink and then go up and then go back down. Then it hit me... maybe the relitivly high idle i had going(1000 rpms) was to blame. so i turned it down to like 500-600 and drove it to and from school in the D- and it didn't ---- up once. Hasn't yet... but i did get a cel every once in a while. i donno... ----, at least it runs, right??

Oh hell no.... but the cel's usually don't stay on long... that's the problem, if it is not on, then i can't test it right Also, can the z6 ditributor work with the pm-6 if i swap the plugs they are both 7 and 2 wire plugs, cause it still feels slugish and seems like it bogs out at like 2500 rpms... and i went dizzy shopping and did not find a single one (well, at only three of the local junkyards). What i did find is a Rex maybe an 88ish or newer for 300$ w/o tranny and motor and no wiring and the axles were cut... has some rust and body damage(nothing major) and no headlight and a broken tailight. Still debating on if i should get it. Any sugestions it was also an automatic and i think a dx, so i would have to change that over too... it would be a project and would drive it in the winter as a beater if i get a motor in it before the snow hits. Thinking of a b18a/b from a teg also at that local yard...

mpfi swap wiring:
move C1 --> B10
move C2--> B12
add blu/grn from dizzy --> B10
add blu/yel from dizzy --> b12
if you find the wiring:
primary injector (red) hook up to injector 2, hook power (yel/blk) to resistor box
secondary injector (yellow) hook to injector 4
back on ecu:
add --> brn wire from inj 1 to A1
add --> lt. blu wire from inj 3 to A5
at tps:
lengthen wire, switch outside wires
at EACV:
lengthen wires.

you should be ready to rock if you did everything right.

Hmmm... if i'm not mistaken, this is what to do to do an mpfi swap... but if i get the ecu, and the entire wiring harness, engine, trans, and whatever mounts and axles i need from a teg, then i do not need to do this, right?? Or do i still have to? Also any more help from the above post would do me good, bout the dizzy and if i should get the car in general. thanks

If you have the time to make the car driveable I would haggle them down on the price just because you can and get it. If you can get the damn wiring harness out from under the dash and replace it then you won't have to worry about any of that crap that I wrote up there, just plug it in.
