why would you be dumb enough to think i would adjust CRANK postion voltage to help my tach out?

You're a ------- idiot

Is this a better upgrade for the vtec obd1 d series dizzy than the OEM honda part, or just a case of you had it sitting around and it was free?

I've noticed my tach kinda being jumpy sometimes lately, and my MPG isnt what it should be for a VX (only around 45 ish, never could get any better even with lots of highway and babying the car). Guessing it's the notorious d series dizzy taking a dump on me since all the other tune-up parts have been replaced....

There really is no upgrade, unless you upgrade to an aftermarket distributor, but I don't know if I'd trust those.

Either buy a new one, or get one from a working distributor.

It tooks ~10+ years for it to go bad.

Re: fluctuatin RPM needle after 4K rpm

so everyone feels its the dizzy eh? I guess i'll have to try to test one out then

this is what I tried, swapped my chipped ecu ( map p28 ) with my P06 virgin ecu, and used the jumper, and the engine light stays on solid, if i remove it it goes away. but with the Chipped Ecu it still has that Cel 20 code. would u feel its the ecu? I'm gonna try driving the car with the P06 ecu see if it fluctuates, and i'll let u guys know!

Any help would be great! No thread stealing >:D

yup still fluctuates.. but not sure if its my imagination, but it feels like its pulling more harder with the P06 ecu rather than the Chipped P28 map. It keeps going in the RPM band but the chipped ecu u totally feel a Lag or a bog during the high Rpms!!

Ahhh.. This S#%R is pissin me off! i might as well just get a Dizzy.. Any other input?

Re: fluctuatin RPM needle after 4K rpm

Swapping it back to the ignitor that the engine came with from the b7 ignitor i previously used. Will let you know what happens!

Re: fluctuatin RPM needle after 4K rpm

ok so put the ignitor that the dizzy originally came with... Problem went away.

Drove home after work at night, decided to make sure the needle wasnt gonna mess up again, did a few pulls.. the needle started to come back. Now here the annoying problem. when i floor the engine, after I let go of the gas and what not, I hear a noise coming from the passenger front side ( dizzy side ) of the engine bay, a sound that can only be heard when the engine is put under pressure.. its not valve adjustment cuz its gone at idle, would a dizzy make noise???

i did see a crack on one part of the dizzy, hair line though, I'll get a diagram and show what was slightly cracked,

Can anyone answer my question if the dizzy makes noise? if not, what would it be? what else should i Check?
