I got some ebay kit, no name brand 8000k , they are ricey blue when you look at them but the out is bluish when you are driving, its kinda strange how they work when I turn them on they operate like flouresent lights, started dull and gets brighter by time. if it lasts when its time to change the bulbs I will try 6000k
ok so heres what im looking for...
so there is a cutoff, correct. can you get a shot on the side of a building?
and you said its an 8k bulb.
these are in tyc projectors?
ebay kit for 60 bucks?
and finally, do you like them? can you see more like you wanted?

Also, the HID's do give stupid, annoying glare to oncoming drivers. Line up against a wall, you'll see the glare.
Maybe it's not so much with the projectors you have. But it is annoying as ---- when the HID's are on a stock honda headlight housing. The light just reflects all over.

mine looks 100% better in person compared to in the pic I posted.
I am tired of taking pics and hosting them, too much work, compared to what I had before the visability is 50% better, I can see a lot better, and when I say no glare I mean it, I like the way they look, they arent as good as a bmw or audi lights but they are better than any civics lights.

Here's my Lexus. My generation has the 6 projectors on the front, high / low and fog projectors. If you're going to use halogen projectors for HID, please modify them to give a correct cutoff because they WILL glare. Do this by creating your own cutoff shield and/or shimming the lens out to refocis the bulb.
These are very old pics on a very old digicam (0.3mp ftw!), before my 6000K phillips Ultinon colorshifted. Yeah mother *******... That's the big pimpin ---- HID blulbs and ballasts there. No korean bullshit!
Playing with the cutoff shield to increase foreground light, no cutoff modification yet
halogen stock VS modified VS HID,:

After cutoff modification (lost the straight line pics year back sry.)
9005 Silverstar highbeams + HID's in the LOS of the bulbs, zoomed in

9005 Silverstar highbeams + HID's above the LOS of the bulbs, zoomed in ZERO GLARE *******

9005 Silverstar highbeams + HID's in the LOS of the bulbs

9005 Silverstar highbeams + HID's above the LOS of the bulbs ZERO GLARE *******

Just HID's with UV radiation turned on for funzies (i took pics of mine with UV radiation on every night to track when the colorshift was mostly finished. Driving 45min a night, 5 nights a week it took 4 nights)

Fog light zoomed in

Fogs+HID, above the LOS

Fogs=HID in the LOS

So do your homework to negate the glare
