This compounded by the 4age's natural tendancy to drop oil pressure under cornering is a concern. It's kind of similar to the b20 problem but its not a for sure thing. There are plenty fo people who run fine like this without problems, perhaps they used a shitty oil pump when it popped or didnt check the oil. Who knows. But im just taking a little bit more time to make sure, so ill port the pump and shim the spring just to be on the safe side of things. I'm also goign to consider putting in those gze oil squirters, but I want to check with engine builders first. You have to clearance the crank since the bump into the squirters, and I dont really want to take a grinder to the crank lol. I have to find out how much it will cost to machine my crank a bit properlly.
Oil squirters are over rated and will drop oil presure.

^^^ I agree. I wouldn't run them in a performance application, unless I had some $$$$ external oil pump that flowed a metric ---- ton, and nothing better to do with my time than install squirters.

Is the small port the way to go on a 1.8? Also, the stock 7A bottom ends are weak from what I've heard. If it's N/A, it should hold up fine. I think www.MR2OC.com has a section just for the 7AGE. I have a 7A block if you need another, I'll look it over, if its good $50+Ship. I'll dig around and let you know is I have anything else.

I def will want that 7a block of the crank isnt scored to ---- and mucked up. Has it been disasmbled at all? The thing with the smallport is that youll get better low middle range power and torque but your top end will suffer. You will also get better spool and their is a 2nd oil drain on the head that is pretty necessary if you ask me. I lost 3mph when i switched to my head but had the same et as the largeport. I prefer the smallport, power comes on way harder and you dont deal with that ------ tvis ----.

Theres a few things ive read about teh 7afe, 1 yes the rods are weak and so are the pistons. 2. everyone ***** on teh crank saying its junk but not once have i seen or heard of a failure adn some people run 500whp on it.

Toss me an email about that 7a will ya?
