i'm making one with hoses from my old refridgerator, a little puffy soap thingie stolen from my girlfriend, and a metal bottle from those "elements" drinks. I'll post a writeup in a few days.

I made mine from a round peice of tin and a can of WD-40 with the top chopped off. I fiber glassed two fittings in the top where the tin is, then I fiberglassed another fitting into the bottom of the can.

After I spray painted the can black, I twisted some tape around it, then painted in red. Then removed the tape and now it looks like a barber shop pole !! Sweet, hehe.

One fitting on the top on the can goes to the valve cover breather.
The other fitting on the top goes to a vaccum source on the air filter/intake side of the turbo.

The last fitting on the bottom of the can runs to a lower, but easy place to drain the oil ( so I never have to take the can out.

As the oil and air enter the can the oil will be pulled downward into the bottom of the can as air will pass into the intake of the turbo without any oil. This is about the only way to get a constant vaccum on the valve cover, without sucking up oil/oil vapor.

Kick ***, I will surely make a few of them (once I have definate direction in where to go). Yeah I'll make a writeup, probably use raw materials and weld everything up too.

Thanks for the info guys.

The Valve cover breather tube that connects to the Intake just draws fresh air into the head right? So there, you would put a breather. The PCV Valve, (positive crankcase ventilation) located on the back of your block, gets oil/air mixture sucked out of it into your intake Manifold when you get blowby (positive pressure into your crankcase below pistons, hence PCV). You put a breather on the valve cover since it just sucks in air anyway, and connect a hose from the PCV to the catch can, then another from the catch can to a constant VAC source, like inbetween the turbo and air filter...right? or am i completely off?
on this diagram, do I need to remove the pcv valve? or should keep one between the engine and the catch can? is obsolutely necessary to have pcv valve in a catch can setup?
