for some reason last night when i was going to sleep i thought about the rings in my new z6 swap.
i just rebuilt my a6 then blew it up so i reused the hastings rings from the A6 in the Z6. they fit just fine but i'm still worried they're not the same size.


am i just paranoid or do i need to rip the engine back apart and put the right sized rings in there? :-/

same bore.. pistons are swappable, I'd assume they are ok.

 

i know they;ll fit bore wise i was just worried about ring height.


but looking in the service manuals they're the same. What fueled my worrying was that some of the sites you can buy cheap parts from list the hasting rings for my a6 but dont list anything for the z6. i guess they're a different shape or something.

napa has both; the a6 rings are like $60 and the z6 are $90 ; neither are the same part numbers so something is different. i guess i'll find out in a few 1000 miles when these rings are shot :-p
