Default d15b7 build?

k im helping my friend build his b7 nothin much just a little more horsepower then an hmt turbo later...but here it goes....we had his head rebuilt...port and polsihed same with the IM...now can we put in a d16a6 SI cam in this head...I heard the Si cam(non vtec) pulls harder than the b7 and has a more aggresive lobes...is this true?

i believe that is true but youd be better of finding a sohc zc cam and using that or even just findin a aftermarket cam like the exospeed street a6 or somethin like that. the delta 272 could possibly be a good cam but im not too sure on that. you might also want to port the throttle body or find a b series or h22 throttle body.

and you'll need to use a Y7/Y8 cam gear to correct the 1/2 tooth error at the cam gear when using a D16 cam in a D15 block.

The A6 cam has .040"I/.050"E more valve lift over a D15B7 cam.

Yet to check the duration as the A6 cam in currently in use!!!!!!

I'll be installing a Crane 251-0012 soon

is the a6 cam a noticeable difference...like where will the power band change?

k forgot to ask this also...when i am looking for a y7 or y8 cam gear how come they list them for all applications....ie d15,d16 92-00? what do i need to look for?

most aftermarket cams you are seeing are adjustable, which means you can make up the difference with any of them. Get an adjustable, it is a nice thing to have.

Because the makers don't have a ------- clue!!!!!!!

88-95 or 96-00 for SOHC.
