Well basically your going to need to do the DPFI-MPFI swap first, and if you want to swap to obd1 thats another project, or you can stay obd0 run the Crx SI (d16a6) injectors, run a Crx SI/HF distributor and chip a PM6/PR4/PS9 and run TE, or another rom editor for obd0 to tune your car. You will need a rpm activated swith to turn vtec on, or get a VAFC. Other than that its pretty much plug and pray.
As far as the tranny, you can really run the JDM D15b tranny in the 88-91 civics, mainly because the trannys from the OBD1 cars are hydraullic operated vs the obd0 style which are Cable. Plus the mounts are different on the pass side, and rear. I'm not to sure what mount configuration you would have to use. I'm sure fabbing up the hydraullic side of it would be pretty easy??.. If you want lsd, there are very rare ZC LSD L3 trannys around.. just hard to find them. Otherwise you can use your stock tranny and upgrade the diff to a Quaife, or maybe even one of those new OBX lsds. (both better than the phantom grip)
Good luck and if ya got any more questions shoot!
Jeff

Go with a aftermarket lsd, they are way better than stock ones anyways.
LSD is good for anything. Like jeff said the hydro trans in the ef chassis is a no no unless you have skillz and your askin rookie questions so throw that idea out the window unless you have an experinced swap artist like myself or a skilled shop do it for ya
