yes, it's the IAC valve (cel 14), it's only happened twice, when it was cold out in the morning, and when it's acting up, it idles high at about 2k rpms?? both times it happened, i was minutes away from work, then when i go back to my car later, i was fine, but the CEL stays on?? i might have a small vacuum leak somewhere, how can i test it? hook a vacuum gauge up to the im??

throttle body gasket i know better than to reuse a gasket, but i didn't feel like waiting for the auto store to order one, so i reused it and never thought about it again, well, this was the culprit, have i mentioned that i'm a dumbass

I never even use gaskets between the throttle body and intake I just make sure those 12mm's are extra tight

lmfao. go figure.. my cars idle is crap too and my tb gasket has silicon all over it for sealing. my guess is that its blocking part of the iacv air inlet.. i'll fix that later on.

glad to hear u got it fixed kevin. and no, you didn't mention that you are a dumbass. but glad you did

i bet it has something to do w/ thermal expansion. when its cold parts are a tad smaller. when its hot it expands and fills in the gap.
