car is bogging
So this morning on the way to work, I was at the lights and when it turned green i was gonna turn left, put it in first and went but the car did not want to go at all, bogged all the way through the intersection. By the time I made the turn the light had already gone red again.. I dont even think the rpm went past like 1500 .. theres no cel.. what could be the problem? probably my fuel filter? plug wires? help please.

Re: car is bogging
Could be ignition or fuel. Has it done this before or again? Is your timing set right? Would help if you listed what kind of car, engine and what mods. Have any vacuum leaks? How's your distributor(ignitor, coil, rotor)? Have you checked or ever changed the fuel filter?

Re: car is bogging
There's a start for you, pull the plugs out and see if you are not running rich or lean. Check the timing and change your fuel filter it's cheap and easy. Take a look at the plug wires make sure they aren't cracked or anything like that. Make sure they are making a solid connection(you can also check them with a multi-meter). After you did all that and it continues to happen let us know. Maybe someone would have an idea of how to fix your problem.

Re: car is bogging
Oil pump bad, or leaking from the filter, oil pan, head gasket(check the back) or valve cover(check the back)? Unless you are leaking oil into the cylinders and burning it that way? Any smoke from the exhaust? I don't think it was an oil problem unless your pump is going bad and happen to be going bad at the point of your car bogging down. However I doubt your car would bog because lack of oil pressure. Oh and another problem I ran into on my car that had to do with the fuel was the PGM-FI main relay it's located on the driver side by the hood lever(well at least that is where it is on the 88-91 civic's). Anyways when that thing heats up and cools down to rapidly it can put a crack on the circuit board solder point, it's easy to pop open and take a look at it. I had to replace mine because I was having fuel problems(was $75 bucks from the honda dealer ship). I'll see if I can find you an article that I found about it. That is if you the PGM-FI main relay is going out on you or having that problem. It's worth a check I suppose I will see if I can find you a link on the article I looked at.
Check the third post down, it has a bit of information about it and a link with pictures on checking and fixing it: https://www.homemadeturbo.com/forum/...4841#msg754841
