Which ever motor you choose, you WILL trash a few trannys!

I;m staying "D" as it is what I can afford, same way HMT got started.

Ouch ! True.

$50 for a unknown piece, I buy quite a few myself, Figure dropping $10 in parts to replace 1-2 fork and ISB, then sell it for $200-$250. Buy cheaply and guess, or pay a little more to know someone has inspected the internals.

I'm currently running a $40 DX tranny that whines in 2nd gear, WHen I drop in the close ratio box, I'll open the DX box, replace what is needed, likely sell for $175-200.

FYI Local yard I've worked with, DX trannys go for $300, EX/Si go for $350-400. Repair shops will pay that kind of money. I get the cores back, charge $100 to replace ISB if that is whats wrong, the yard has a good core to sell again. If the core is toast, like from a RF hard hit that cracks the case, I try to mate other cases and shim as needed. No spare cases, then I get the parts for free to use as I need.

Naaaaaaa.. i wouldnt buy ---- like that.. it was a friends.. and it was wrecked.. the mount on the side had a threaded hole ripped out and another mount twisted up.. .. My Si tranny already whines like a mother in 1 and 2nd so ill wait until it goes totally and save the work for another day.. I knew him personaly.. It makes me feel a tiny bit better
