umm, 350? for what? you didn't say what kind of piston.

Most sets are 400-500 or so.

What brand pistons are you being quoted $350 for? SRP?

And I believe the y8 set will suit you just fine.

your best bet for rods is going to be either Eagle, or I have heard good review on the new ones made by Scat. Those you can snag on Ebay for $290 shipped.

btw you pasted the 10.5:1 pistons, I would stay with the 9:1 or something 9.5:1, unless you like breaking stuff.

he combonation of a y8 head with z6 pistons usually gives about a .3:1 jump in the CR, so with SRP 9:1 pistons for the z6 block, you might see about 9.3:1 with a y8 head, if you want a little more compression out of your setup.

Personally I will probably do y8 pistons with my z6 head, which bumps the z6 comp ratio of 9.2:1 to 9.27:1, so with 9:1 y8 pistons, i am thinking ill actually get like a 9.05:1 ratio, every little bit helps

scat rods and eagle rods are IDENTICAL. just have a different name. i bought a set of each cause im an idiot and orderd both by accident. the machine shope measured everything and they were exactly the same. i didnt use em because i didnt feel like hackin up my block that much. so im using stock rods. if you looking for aftermarket rods that are cheap and do the job, get either the scat hbeams or the eagles. youll be happy with either. and srp pistons are a good choice for the money
