Block swap possible?

Block swap possible?
Hey I have a z6 out of a 93 del sol si. It has 120k on it. I also have a y8 complete long block w/ 4k on the motor(straight off the odometer) Im planning on going boost within the next month or so and i have a couple questions.
Im lookin for a pretty solid platform for this setup, meaning no old and worn down parts. So im wandering if i can take the y8 block with pistons, rods, crank and hook it up to my z6 head and tranny and everything. well i guess i can ask this: can any y8 block parts fit on my z6 without any swapping of components (dizzy, manifolds?) Im also wanting to keep my obd1 capabilities for Uber. Any help woudl be great

read up. thats a lazy *** give me everything on a silver platter question.
try searching, put some of your own time into it.
i know youre a lazy *** dipshit because you wouldnt have asked that question if youd have taken any initiative to learn something for yourself.
now back to my evening, nighty night.

Re: Block swap possible?
yes it will bolt up and everything will work just stick with your wiring harness and if your gonna use the z6 head youll be fine nothing really custom just bolt it up and clip everything up you will still be obd1 since your not changing harness, ECU and stickin with the z6 head still obd1 dizzy you shouldnt have any probs

Re: Block swap possible?
even if you put in the Y8 head etc..you could still be OBD1 ...obd2 dizzy is the same as OBD1.
A lot of people now ask all these question that has been covered before....a long time ago.
No one searches anymore...there is google, HMT, HT etc etc

Re: Block swap possible?
leave the whole y8 together and throw it in using your stock wire harness.
dont forget to grind a spot on the y8 mani for the iat sensor or just add it to the intake piping.
or just leave it dangling in the engine bay.

Re: Block swap possible?
Only thing you'll have to do is swap connectors or just swap internals of the dist. Just swap the internal cause it'll take a whole 5 minutes to do since everything just swaps over and no modding and looks completely stock with no hacked up harness. I've swapped obd1 internals from a b7 dist into y7 dist case and everything is the same but the connectors for a obd1 harness. Keep the y8 together as whiterice said and make less work for you.

Re: Block swap possible?
The general consensus i've always heard is that y8 blocks are notorious for their oil pumps going bad, and the main bearings failing. Even though it's still pretty fresh, just keep a close eye on it if you plan to beat the crap out of it. Also a plus is the z6 head on that block will help lower your cr into a more "boost friendly" range, but not by much. Downfall is you lose that very pretty quench area
