Default battery relocation/ motor wiring problems/ look to see if you know whats wrong

ok, i swapped my 97 obd1 converted dx motor into my 89 dx...... so i used the stock 89 harness-starter- tranny everything, well i thought, while im at it, in anticipation of going turbo i moved the battery to the back..... here are my problems im having right now.......

1. when i turn the key, i can here the clicking to send power to the starter under the dash, but the starter solenoid isnt clicking

2. when i turn the key 2 clicks forward, my two blinker lights/ high beam light pop on, along with my seat belt switch..... which never happened before, and its weird since my seatbelt plug isnt even plugged in......
3. fuel pump wont click on when i turn the key on

here is the order of events of what i did and see if you know of something i have over looking.. i know the starter isnt bad because i tested it before i even put it in

1. swapped out the motor, extended the TPS plug and switched the wires.....
2. bolted the whole swap in, bought the obd1 conversion harness, hooked that all up
3. moved the battery to the back, splicing off the fuse box wire, and the starter wire off of a distribution block
4. found out one of my problems that the starter wasnt clicking was because i forgot to hook up the block ground, wasnt that
5. hooked up my old pm5 ecu to see if it was just the ecu, wasnt that
6. put the battery back in the original location and soldered the wires back on the battery post connector

so everything is back in the stock places...... do i have a ground hooked up wrong? what grounds are there to hook up besides the block ground to the tranny cable bracket thingy from the battery.... and the valve cover ground

ive looked over my haynes manual MANY times at the wiring diagrams and nothing has caught my eye..... i havnt done ANY MPFI wiring yet so i know that- that isnt messed up somehow..... anyone know wahts going on? any advice?

wait... you have a 97 dx motor (mpfi) in a 4g dx which is dpfi and you didn't do all of that wiring yet? you kind of need to do it unless you still have the dpfi manifold on, in which case you'd have to use the pm5 ecu with no obd conversion. I'm confused at what all you did.

Also, check the voltage at various points, the rear location may not be pushing a strong enough voltage to the front if you have some crappy wiring. Also, re-check all your grounds, grind them, and tighten everything. A simple bad connection at the battery will screw everything up....

The fuel pump relay is what you hear clicking under the dash. When I went to start up my motor, I had the same thing. Followed all the proceedures for testing the fuel pump and fuel pump relay and It all tested, put everything back together and it worked.

i had similar problems when i did my battery relocate, turned out i didnt have a good motor ground, if you ground the battery to the trunk floor thats a chasis ground, you also need a motor ground, run a ground strap or some 4 gauge speaker wire from the bolt hole on your tranny mount over to the motor somewhere, i put mine under a tranny bell housing bolt, and the other ---- is most likley just a blown fuse check all of them, pull each one out under the dash and under hood......i think this may take care of your problems...

not to be a jerk cause i know you guys are trying to help but if you look at step 6 i had put the battery back in the stock location..... hooked everything back up like it was before (eliminating the battery relocation totally) and im not trying to start up the car, im just seeing if the starter kicks on, im not trying to start the car, thats why im not doing the wiring yet.....

so right now i have the battery ground connected to the thing that holds the cable close to the tranny (the stock location) and i also have the valve cover ground.....

checked EVERY fuse..... fuel pump/ under the hood box/ under dash box.. no fuses blown

any other suggestions?
