it could be the fast idle thermal valve.. i had that problem for well over a year.. on cold starts it would idle at 3k and then afterwards bounce up and down for like 15-20 minutes making the car jerk really bad on 1st gear.. took the fitv out and the piston thingy in there was loose.. screwed it back in and never had an idle issue ever since .. theres a really helpful post in the last page of the sticky up above that could help you.. check it out ..
